the first video version of the flatstyle bmx 'open mic' interviews. it's holistic too. featuring 'hector dangus' (shorn head), and 'dirty d' (hat).
this is the first interview i've attempted where i get the answers first, and then try to think of the questions. it's like jeopardy, but with righteous dudes that ride bikes.
Moto is an iconic and original front wheel rider from Japan; winner of the prestigious Nora Cup, twice. He has competed and won Ground Tactics with possibly the best flatland link ever filmed, at over 3 minutes in length, and numerous other wins. These are some of the completed links I captured on his way to podium at JoMoPro this year.
3rd Place Pro 2012 JoMoPro flatland contest Joplin, Missouri, USA
This year an experiment was held in the form of a Best Trick Contest. 17 riders from 5 countries lined up in a fast paced format. The idea was to push the sport and riders to bring new tricks and ideas to the table. This video features some of the best moments that I was able to capture during it. It was one of the best things I've seen at a contest in years, and I hope that the concept catches on.
Really great people at this year's event. It was a pleasure to be there. I hope you enjoy the photos. Feel free to share them.

Just a little clip from this year's practice before the contest. Buddha's riding is incredible, so calm, like putting socks in the drawer or walking the dog when he rides. More soon.
stay tuned~
In honor of next weekend's Jomopro 2012 contest, here's a wonderfully done video both introducing flatland, and featuring a lot of guys I know and love.
This is coming up in just over a month. I can't wait!

About JoMoPro
The annual JoMoPro flatland contest started in 2009 as an addition to the existing BMX park contest that was already in its fourth year. Using the venue and resources provided by the amazing staff at The Bridge, a team of volunteers including head organizer Pat Schoolen (from Flatland Fuel) stepped up to help introduce the flatland contest, which quickly became a huge success.
"The JoMoShowdown and JoMoPro events built on the desire to provide a platform for up and coming BMX riders and Skateboarders to compete against and develop relationships with other riders/skaters from all over the world. We want to provide a fun and well executed competition experience for the up and coming riders and skaters in the Midwest and beyond. As well as provide an opportunity for people from the community to experience BMX and Skateboarding first hand." -The Bridge
*The Bridge is a venue that includes a skatepark (Autumn Ramp Park), a youth center with rock climbing, basketball, video games, etc., and an all-ages music venue (The Foundry). The flatland contest will take place inside The Foundry. Scroll down to learn more about the venue and floor surface.

This year 4 Japanese riders competed at Jomopro. It was both an honor and pleasure to see them ride and meet them. They won the hearts of everyone with great riding and great attitudes. This video is posted out of admiration for them.
I have a TON of footage that I will be uploading just as quickly as I possibly can, both uncut contest runs, and edited footage of the best links filmed during practice. Please bookmark this page and keep checking back to see the latest media. All future contest videos that I have uploaded will be added to this post. Thank you!
I've just returned from the Jomopro contest which was incredible. While going through clips tonight, I found this short clip of Hector. While filming him, his axle snapped and the frame was pretty badly mucked up in back. His legs are very strong! Thankfully tho, he was able to replace the axle and fix the frame in time to compete. Even tho his bike was badly damaged, he had such a great attitude about it.
